For the benefit
of all beings, the Vairotsana Sangha, under the direction
and inspiration of our precious teacher, The Venerable Bhakha
Tulku Rinpoche, will construct a stupa at "The Gathering
Place of the Dakinis," Ösel Khandro Duwi Ling, Rinpoche's
retreat land in the Zuni Mountains of New Mexico.
A stupa is
the manifestation of the wisdom of the enlightened state of the
Buddha. The blessings generated by the construction of a stupa and
honoring it after it has been built are incalculable. It is like
finding a wish fulfilling tree that can grant health for oneself
and others, longevity, wealth, and prosperity. Constructing a stupa
can help avert all that is inauspicious, pacify obstacles, and promote
favorable spiritual conditions. Provided there is bodhicitta (altruistic
intent), a stupa grants spiritual development and ultimate liberation
for all those who see, hear, touch, or remember it.
We are building
this stupa in the Zuni Mountains at a time when extreme negative
conditions proliferate on our planet in order to help remove those
obstacles and to generate the blessings of healing, peace, and enlightenment
for all beings, in every direction, in every way.
The Zuni Mountain
Stupa will be 50 feet in height and will be constructed in the traditional
Düdul Chorten style. It will contain the relics of enlightened
beings, millions of mantras, and other precious substances. All
aspects of its construction will be done in the auspicious traditional
manner, consecrated by Bhakha Tulku Rinpoche and other lamas, to
create waves of blessings that will be released through our heartfelt
intentions. Help sponsor the construction of the Zuni Mountain Stupa.
Your participation
in, as well as any financial and/or in-kind support of the construction
of the Zuni Mountain Stupa will bring immeasurable benefit to yourself,
to the retreat land, to the entire planet, and, ultimately, to all
others, regardless of their connection, motivation, or understanding.
It should be noted that throughout history, because of the powerful
blessings generated by a stupa and the fact that it doesn't exist
for any other reason than to benefit beings, even the highest of
lamas and tulkus would traditionally flock to help in its construction,
no matter how physically demanding or costly, in order to generate
the enlightened mind of Buddha.
The Zuni Mountain
Stupa is so important that Bhakha Tulku Rinpoche has determined
that its construction must become a priority for the retreat land
he has named "The Gathering Place of the Dakinis." In
addition to its profound blessings, its construction will serve
as a lightening rod for the further development and fruition of
this pristine retreat, high in the Zuni Mountains. Already one retreat
cabin has been built and is available for individual retreats. We
are now in the process of adding two more cabins, to be completed
later this year. We are also in the planning stages for the eventual
construction of a formal meditation hall for larger community retreats,
as well as a sangha kitchen, and anticipate the construction of
permanent shower facilities.
Our vision
is to make it possible to deepen our individual and community practices
with the resources we have and are creating so that the Buddha dharma
will continue to shine and thrive.
Your financial
and in-kind support at this crucial, beginning stage of the construction
of the Zuni Mountain Stupa will help us to generate tremendous blessings
for the land and all beings, and will help foster the precious opportunities
of the Buddha dharma here in the West. It will firmly establish
a seat where the empowerments, teachings, and blessings of the masters
of our lineage will flourish for practitioners. Most importantly,
it will bring us much closer to the fruition of our common goal:
to nourish a continuing commitment to benefit the well being of
all.
